SOUTH TEXAS DIRECTOR DIALOGUE – Tim Vipond
Lots happened last month
and will happen this month with the Texas HSTA. Read below about 2 Texas HSTA motorcycle racers who placed #1 in their
class in
HSTA
has some great rides planned throughout every month, whether your doing the
local rides on weekends or are able to break away for our 3-day trips to AR
this month and next (T-18 & Byway Boogie). Another great option in May is to hook up
with Brad and CindaMobley for their annual non-event ride to the Texas Hill Country. If you haven’t made plans to attend STAR in Avon, CO this year, you should.
The Colorado HSTA is working hard to make this a great event and they have
great material to work with, expect the best rally of your life, period. Get
over the web site and check it out. http://star.ridehsta.com
Texas HSTA’ers Randy Martin and Glenn Bradshaw
take 1st place at the Texas World Speedway 8 hourEndurance Race!
Team
Ogre (TX HSTA’ers Randy Martin, Glenn Bradshaw and TSBA’er Tommy Anderson) didn’t let their start in the back
of the pack discourage them in their quest for glory in April’s CMRA race at
Six
hours into the race they passed their final victim due to Team Fireball’s spun
rod bearing when they ran out of oil.
This
was quite the accomplishment considering Team Ogre placed 5th in
their class and 30th overall in their last race. This improvement was due to very fast and
consistent lap times of 1.56 to 2.00 minutes, improved engine work by Randy’s
Cycle Center of Denton, and possibly improved lubrication provided by
co-sponsor AMSOIL.
Keep
up with the schedule and finishes of Team Ogre at http://www.cmraracing.com/. Better yet,
come out and watch them race!

L-R, Jon Whitfill (pit crew this day, normally the "fast
guy" on the SV when he races with us), Randy Martin (Cycle Center of
Denton, team owner), Tom Anderson, and Glenn Bradshaw (Fast guy and team
Captain).Notice the sponsor's stickers... ![]()
